Product Description

Michele GARLATO, Venezia 1981

purple transparent “forcola”

Venetian Designer, begins self-taught art career.

Specializing in the processing of polymethylmethacrylate, better known as plexiglass, it understands the expressive potential and puts it back as a point of strength of his work. It is a model of Venetian daily life that is rich in symbolic and deeply rooted in the craftsmanship of the city, as well as its inseparable bond with the water: the Bricola, which in Laguna offers a guide to the navigators; the “Fero” by gondola, which symbolizes the city in all its parts; Finally, the Forcola, the carving soul of the oar, is undoubtedly one of the most admired forms of Venetian sculptors.

Through his works, the artist immerses himself in the artisan and traditional Venetian atmosphere but with a strongly modern approach, given by a typical material of the industrial era, thus merging into a single object, past and present.

Michele Garlato has participated in several competitions and exhibitions, and his works can now be admired at the Galleria BAC ART STUDIO in Venice
