The BAC ART STUDIO was conceived as a meeting place where joint projects, individual artist’s works and the public come together. It was born out of Paolo Baruffaldi’s and Claudio Bazzichetto’s shared experiences with the 1977 creation of Botteghe d’Arte “Cadore” in Venice-S.Croce, in Paris-Montparnasse (1980) and in 1981 at the Rialto.
In 1985 a new center opened in Campo S. Maurizio. It was seen as an interactive space where different experiences and experiments with new techniques and materials fused together, along side graphic arts and traditional engraving. The mark “BAC Art Studio” stands for the true birth of the artistic experience and exhibition. The opening of the new gallery near S. Vio (1998) signifies a new phase in the continuing artistic development of both artists. The gallery, designed by the architect Maria Pupo, is organized in well-defined yet open spaces which include: the Atelier where Paolo Baruffaldi (peintre-graveur) will continue his research and design activities, a Graphic Arts Workshop which will follow the path mapped out by Cadore with color aquatint, a section dedicated to Publishing for the presentation of prints, posters and booklets, and a Multi-functional Space where the experiences of guest artists will be welcomed.
